    • 1 oz #0102 black lava (A)
  • Red Heart Soft Baby light (DK) weight yarn (7 oz/575 yds/198g per skein):
    • 1 oz #7001 white (B)
  • Caron Simply Soft Brites (medium) worsted weight yarn (6 oz/330 yds/170g per skein):
    • 1 oz #9605 mango (C)
  • Lion Brand Fun Fur bulky (chunky) weight eyelash yarn (solid: 1 3/4 oz/60 yds/50g; print: 1 1/2 oz/57 yds/40g per skein):
    • 2 skeins #153 black (D)
    • 1 skein #100 white (E)
    • 1 skein #213 fireworks (F)
    • 4 yds #157 soft yellow (G)
  • Size F/5/3.75mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

Rnd 1: With 1 strand each A and D, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join rnds, place marker to mark rnds, move marker as rnds progress. (6 sc)

Rnd 3: [Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 6 times. (18 sc)

Notes: Turn Head and Body inside out, using care not to stretch piece too much. The RS is on the outside.
Stuff the Head and Body, making sure the neck is slightly stiff. Make sure to stuff tail tip with lots of fiberfill.
The following few rnds will be difficult to work as you will be working from the inside out and backwards.

Rnd 36: [Sc in each of next 2 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc] 6 times. (18 sc)
Rnd 37: [Sc in next sc, sc dec in next 2 sc] 6 times. (12 sc) Finish stuffing with fiberfill.
Rnd 38: [Sc dec in next 2 sc] 6 times, sl st in next st, leaving a length of yarn, fasten off. (6 sc) With rem length of yarn, sew opening closed.

Beak
Rnd 1: With C, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: [Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] 3 times. (9 sc)
Rnds 3 & 4: Sc in each sc around. At the end of rnd 4, sl st in next st, leaving a length of yarn, fasten off.
Stuff with fiberfill and set aside.

Face & Belly
Rnds 1-4: With 1 strand each B and E, rep rnds 1-4 of Head. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: With 1 strand each B and G, rep rnd 5 of Head. (30 sc)
Rnd 6: Sc in each sc around.
Row 7: Now working in rows, with 1 strand each B and E, sc in each of next 8 sc, turn.
Row 8: Ch 1, sc in each of next 8 sc, turn.
Row 9: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn. (10 sc)
Rows 10-12: Rep row 9. (16 sc)
Rows 13-22: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.
Rows 23-26: Ch 1, sc dec in next 2 sc, sc in each sc across to last 2 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc, turn. (8 sc)
Rows 27 & 28: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn. At the end of last rep, leaving a long length, fasten off.
Row 29: With WS facing, holding piece flat and working through thicknesses, attach G in side edge of rnd 6, ch 1, sc evenly sp around Head ending at opposite side in rnd 6, fasten off.
With Face rnds 1-6 at top and Belly rows 7-28 at bottom, sew to Head and Body with row 7 positioned over rnd 18 of Body.
Sew Beak to center front of Face.

Wing
Make 2.
Row 1: With 1 strand each A and D, leaving a 6-inch length at beg, ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each rem ch across, turn. (5 sc)
Rows 2-7: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.
Row 8: Ch 1, sc dec in next 2 sc, sc in each rem sc across, turn. (4 sc)
Row 9: Ch 1, sc in each of next 2 sc, sc dec in next 2 sc, turn. (3 sc)
Row 10: Ch 1, sc dec in next 2 sc,sc in next sc, turn. (2 sc)
Row 11: Ch 1, sc dec in next 2 sc, turn. (1 sc)
Row 12: Sl st in last sc, fasten off.
Sew a Wing to each side of Body.

Feet
Make 2.
Row 1: With C, ch 2, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, turn. (2 sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc across, turn. (4 sc)
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, turn. (6 sc)
Row 5: Rep row 3.
Row 6: Ch 2, dc in same st as beg ch-2, (dc, hdc, sl st) in next sc, [dc in next sc, (dc, hdc, sl st) in next sc] twice, fasten off. (3 toes)

Leg
Make 2.
Rnd 1: With C, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join. (6 sc)
Rnds 2 & 3: Sc in each sc around. At the end of rnd 3, sl st in next st, fasten off and stuff Leg lightly. Sew Leg to Foot and sew Leg to Body.

Scarf
Row 1: With F, ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each of next 2 chs, turn. (4 dc)
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each of next 3 dc, turn. (4 dc)
Rows 3-35: Rep row 2. At the end of last rep, fasten off. Tie Scarf around neckline.

Facial Features
If desired, trim fur around face.
With a length of A, embroider eyes in satin st just above Beak.
